Ember Lab is a team of artists dedicated to creating computer generated imagery that enhances a story. The group's visual insight and unique creativity has grown from their diverse cultural experiences. Living and working in Chicago, Miami, Orlando, Paris, Tokyo, and most recently, Orange County has given them a broad range of experiences that enhance their digital skills. The Ember Lab began simply when a small cadre of friends began shooting video in middle school. They went on to create award winning shorts in high school and eventually concentrate on visual effects during and after college. The Ember Lab members hold degrees from Chapman University, Northwestern University and the University of Central Florida.
In 2007, Ember Lab began working on The League, a senior thesis film directed by Kyle Higgins at Chapman University. Their work earned them Best Production Design and Best Visual Effects at Chapman University in 2008. Soon after, the Ember Lab was recruited to complete the visual effects for Turbo to help create the future world in which players control a video game through a 3D user interface that recognizes gestures and motion to manipulate virtual characters. Their talents have been applied to web design, print media, advertisements, commercials, and film. For more information, please email contact@emberlab.com.
